The prison department started the testing of new jammers

The prison department started the checking of the secret equipments, which should disconnect the mobile phones of the jailers. If the engineers manage to succeed, the jails will be kept out of cell phone network, while other mobile phone users won’t be suffered.
One of the troubles in jails is an illegal communication. It is known that the jailers are banned in having a telephone. However, the jailers still use them, although 1000’s of cell phones are retrieved from the prisoners each year. There were even cases when the jailers attemped to reach the Russian Government via cell phones. Just not long ago, one jailer called the members of the Security Committee, and requested them to examine his complaint more carefully.
The top of prison authorities specified that this situation is not because of engineering difficulties, but because of legislation, so such cases occur sometimes. As the FSIN director suggested, an unexpect stern note of warning started from the special departments, which are liable for the phone connection when the so-called phone blockers were used in some colonies. The superiors were threatened with the administrative liability for cutting the cell phone waves.
It’s difficult to apply such disablers in the megapolicies, because the normal residents suffer unstable broadcasting. There were several efforts to state the suitable jammer in the jails several years ago, but it led to a public scandal, because the cell phones quited operating not only in the jails, but also in the neighbourhood.
Other gadget is tested in Vladimir. According to the engineers, it doesn’t cut the telephone communication, but it detects the cell phones even if those mobiles are switched off. So the cell phones can no longer be hidden. If this device is successful, all jails will be provided with those gizmos.
